(Fish market) is a place to go when you want to splurge and have a great dining experience. Great service, good wine and awesome food. I recommend going with the tasting menu. Make sure to call in advance.

The fish here is awesome, flame broiled and served in skillet with delicious buttery garlic sauce... Supposedly Ricky Gervais had their fish burger 3 times :). Cool fun place and not too expensive.

Þrír frakkar is one of my favourite places to go with guests from abroad. They serve really good local food at very decent prices. Here you’ll find whale sashimi, whale steak, smoked puffin, horse filet and the classic fish stew along with several fish and lamb dishes. Downtown but a bit out of the beaten path so they often have a table available at short notice.

The best lobster in Iceland, period. But located about one hour from Reykjavik... still worth the drive. Recommend the lobster soup and lobster tails.

Cute little place down by the harbour that serves great seafood at a good price. Nothing fancy, just old style Icelandic fisherman decor. Great just to jump in and grab something quick or have as take away.
