These fast, stable and safe boats also allow us to cover more area as we search for the wild life, thus increasing your chances of spotting whales, dolphins and birdlife.

Itinerary

This great whale watching tour starts from the old harbour of Reykjavík and we first visit the puffins in their natural habitat on the islands in the bay. Next we head out in search of the whales. Few things will beat the experience of seeing the whales and dolphins as up close as you can from our RIB boats. After our whale safari we travel back to Reykjavík, where we will take ride along the cities shore line, viewing it from the sea. Including a stop at the harbour side of Iceland´s most famous building, the glittering Harpa Concert Hall.

Important information

Please note: 

• Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your chosen departure. If you arrive later then 10 minutes prior to the departure we can not guarantee that you can join the tour. 
• This tour has a minimum of 2 passengers. If the minimum is not met, we will offer you to reschedule or get a full refund.
  
• The tour has an age limit of 10 years & height limit of 145 CM
  

• This tour may not be suitable for pregnant women. Consult your doctor before signing up.

• This tour is not recommended for those with history of back and knee problems or severe heart conditions. Consult your doctor before signing up.

• This tour may not be suitable for those over the age of 65 years.

• Puffin season is from approximately May - August
  

Flexible Ticket:

Your ticket is flexible which means you can change your departure time up to two hours prior to the reserved departure. If you need to move your booking please contact us directly by e-mail at info@whalesafari.is and we will assist you. 

Please note: Moving the booking is always subject to availability.

2019 Departures:

• From the 1st of April to the 31st of May two departures a day at 10:00 and 14:00.

• From the 1st of June to the 30th of June four departures a day at 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 16:00 & 20.00

• From the 1st of July to the 31st of August  eight departures a day at 09.00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00 & an evening departure at 20:00.

• From the 1st of September to the 30th of September three departures a day at 10:00. 13.00 & 15.00.

• From the 1st of October to the 31st of October two departures a day at 10:00 and 14.00

  
  

Cancellations due to weather:  

Our tours are dependant on weather and sea conditions so sometimes we need to cancel this tour due to winds in the main whale habitat area. Make sure to provide us with your contact details upon booking so we can contact you as soon as possible regarding any changes to your tour!
