A classic version of the The Golden Circle covering Gullfoss, Geysir and Þingvellir.
This trip comes highly recommended and is a great way to see some of the most famous sights in Iceland in one day tour.
Geysir geothermal erupting geyser
Þingvellir national park
GPS activated audio guide
Starting off in Reykjavik, pick up is included in your price so you will be fetched from either your accommodation or the nearest pick up point. Just let us know where to grab you from.
When we leave the city we will take you along the golden circle route that will take you to such destinations as Gullfoss (the golden waterfall), Geysir (The exploding hot spring) and Þingvellir (Thingvellir) national park.
During the trip you will be able to plug into our GPS activated audio guide for more information about each location.
Þingvellir (or Thingvellir) is an area of great natural beauty but it also contains a strong historical significance to the country as a whole. Within this site you can see the location of the world's first parliament. The spot where the American and Eurasian tectonic plates are separating as well as a number of other historical buildings. All of this and we have yet to even mention how stunning the nature is here!
The great Geysir is an erupting hot spring. The english word Geyser actually derives from the name Geysir as this was the first geyser to be mentioned in print in Europe. Sadly the great Geysir no longer erupts of its own power but thankfully there is a geyser called strokkur very close by that goes off fairly frequently.
Gullfoss, or the golden falls, is a huge waterfall that drops a staggering 32 meters over two stages. It is fed from the white river which originates from Iceland’s 2nd biggest glacier. More than just a pretty site though Gullfoss also has an amazing history that involves foreign investors trying to harness its power and one young girl's amazing efforts to preserve the nature.
Pick-up starts 30 minutes prior to departure. Please be ready at your pick up point with your voucher, either in digital or printed form.
Dress appropriately for the weather baring in mind that the surfaces at Geysir can sometimes be wet. It is also recommended you wear comfortable shoes.
You will be traveling in a coach that holds approximately 40 people but is very spacious and comfortable. There is not a bathroom on the bus but there will be plenty of stops where facilities can be used. The bus offers free wifi and a USB charging port.
You will also be able to listen to the GPS activated audio guide (offered in 10 languages) while you travel so make sure to bring your headphones or buy a pair on the bus.
This tour is 7.5 hours long including travel time and the time you spend at each location. You spend at least 30 minutes at the major stops giving you plenty of time to enjoy the nature and snap some photos.
Lunch is not included, but there will be plenty of opportunity to buy food.
Fee of 100% if cancelled 1 day(s) or less before the activity
I took the Golden Circle Express Tour from Reykjavik. Everything about this tour was phenomenal. I cannot say enough good things about our driver, tour director, and the beautiful locations that we visited. Absolutely stunning scenery in conjunction with amazing service and interesting information narrated by the director made it a fabulous trip. The driver and tour director even pulled to the side of the road so some other passengers and I could pet Icelandic horses.
Amazing Grand Circle Classic tour today, booked the night before with plenty of space available. Very good tour, stopping at more places than originally planned and giving lots of extra information. Shame we're not here longer or would be doing more of their tours!
Have not got enough praise for this company, we were collected from the airport by one of their drivers and brought directly to our accommodation and will use them again when going home. Today we done the golden circle tour and it was such an amazing experience, the driver and tour guide were both lovely people and so helpful.
Yesterday, I joined golden circle tour. My tour director and driver were just amazing!!! I really loved them. Btw this company has 10 languages audio guides. Was nice. It didn't make me feel boring while my journey.
Just finished The Golden Circle Tour; big shout out to our guide Herman!!
Thank you Öya and bus driver for being such great tour guides. I had a wonderful day and wish could have stayed longer. The birds in the volcano crater were juvenile Peregrine falcons as I thought.
Fantastic tour! Very well organized, efficient, covers main points of interest (Golden Circle) and allows to see the best of Iceland without much planning on your own. Our tour-guide Herman took care of everything, even added couple extra stops and made sure to answer any questions. The hotel pick up was on time and the operator was very responsive when booking online. One comment: Golden Waterfall requires longer stop (45') and the Gaiser stop could be shorter (1'15). Thank you!
