Join us for a great trip where you can snowmobile on a glacier and then visit an ice cave
This trip is perfect for people who are self driving the golden circle and want to add a little something extra to their day. It is also great for people who want a thrilling activity to take part in that is near to the city.
Ice cave adventure
We start the day by picking you up in a super truck at Gullfoss café, located by the wonderful waterfall Gullfoss. From there we will head towards our snowmobile base which is located at the roots of Langjökull glacier, the second largest glacier in Iceland. There you will get all the equipment that you need for the snowmobile ride. After a short safety briefing and a lesson on how to operate the snowmobile we head out on a one hour exhilarating snowmobile ride. When we are halfway through the ride, we will make a stop for approximately 15 minutes to explore a unique natural ice cave on the glacier. There you will also get the opportunity to changes drivers before heading back to our base.
Langjökull, which translates as the “long glacier”, is the second largest icecap in Iceland. It is also the closest glacier to the city of reykjavik and sits at 4,000 ft (1,200 m) above sea level. The water from Langjökull eventually goes on to become the white river which feeds Gullfoss waterfall.
Please remember that this is a “Meet on location” tour and you will need to make your own way to the starting point at the Gullfoss cafe. You need to arrive with your ticket either in digital or printed form 30 minutes prior to your departure time.
Dress appropriately for the weather, bring your warmest clothes, gloves, hat. Hiking shoes or snow boots are essential.
Please note that the price of the tour is based on two persons sharing a snowmobile. If you prefer to ride solo, you can upgrade for only 6.000 isk extra.
This tour is 4 hours long. You will receive plenty of time to enjoy the nature and snap some photos.
Lunch is not included in this tour.
Transfer to the snowmobile base and back to Gullfoss cafe, 1 hour double ride, a guided visit to a natural ice cave and all the safety equipment needed for the Snowmobile trip.
Bring with you warm outdoor clothing, sturdy shoes, sunglasses and your camera.
