A day trip to the wondrous Snæfellsnes Peninsula, known as Iceland in Miniature.
Snæfellsnes is often referred to as "mini Iceland" because it contains so many of the geological and natural wonders that people come to Iceland to see. It is a peninsula on the west coast of the country where you can find the Snæfellsnesjökull Glacier, which has a height of 1446m. The volcano beneath the glacier is the setting of the Jules Verne novel, "Journey to the Center of the Earth" and is believed to have magical powers.
